Catholic Health Services’s (CHS) Catholic Home Care and Good Shepherd Hospice have named Iyabode (Yabo) Alfred, Ph.D., RN, Vice President for Operations.

Prior to joining CHS, Dr. Alfred served as vice president and chief clinical officer of the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) of Albany. She also spent 16 years at the Visiting Nurse Service of New York where she held various staff and administrative roles.

“Dr. Alfred’s experience with providing care to patients from the comfort of their homes will be a tremendous asset to the thousands of people we serve,” said Catholic Home Care and Good Shepherd Hospice President Kim Kranz.

“Patients are encouraged to be much more involved in care planning and clinicians are here to help them set and attain their goals,” Dr. Alfred said. “I look forward to working with our home care and hospice teams to educate patients and their families about the available treatment and care options.”

The Staten Island resident earned her doctorate in education/nursing from Capella University, has a master’s in nursing from the University of Phoenix and a bachelor’s in nursing from New York University. Additionally, Dr. Alfred served as an adjunct professor at the City University of New York/Hunter College and at Long Island University.
